Web Design | Social Media | Marketing Strategy

Cubby’s owned and operated a series of C-stores, as well as a grocery outlet. I helped manage the websites and social properties for both. Phil’s Cash Saver was more active with posting specials on social platforms, where Cubby’s did not a big proponent of posting individual sale items. The Cubby’s sales items existed on their web page in a slider format, where the specials took on a new monthly look every month.

Cubby's

Cubby’s Convenience Stores is a medium-sized C-Store chain, with 35 locations in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. During my time as a design and marketing consultant I worked to build Cubby’s reputation in the community, as well as among employees.

My work spanned the pandemic years, during which time the company placed an emphasis on recruitment and retention. I built a number of internal retention efforts, as well as marketing recruitment tools.

Concepted and pitched internal-focused podcast with news, store, staff and company updates.

Designed, wrote, and managed the production of bimonthly internal newsletter.

Branded monthly award in-store design for employee spotlight. Helped showcase the faces of the company, their contributions.

Cubby’s social media program worked to highlight new product launches, community engagement, proprietary items, and key business directives. Worked started primarily on Facebook before developing a video strategy for Instagram and TikTok. Weekly reels focused on weekend pizza offers. Cubby’s leveraged a community engagement program, donating a portion of pizzas sold to local schools.

Designed car wrap to coincide with new order-online and  delivery service.

Created display graphics for a variety of one-off instances.

In addition, I helped elevate the consumer facing elements by creating branded items for in-store, billboard, floor displays, and community facing purposes.

Simplified billboard designs to highlight the brand in greater detail.

Campaign specific work often required unique solutions. This floor display became a part of a contest, encouraging customers to interact with the branded bear.

Developed unique display designs based on store-specific parameters.
